Melbourne the only motor show of 2009
It’s official – the 75th annual Melbourne Motor Show is Australia’s only major motor show of 2009. It is also the last to carry the Melbourne name before it becomes the Australian International Motor Show under a joint venture between the Melbourne and Sydney motor show organisers.

While Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth have all called off their 2009 shows, top manufacturers are lined up to show their latest offerings at Melbourne.
When the Show opens its doors at 5 pm on Friday 27 February, its exhibits will represent 94.9 per cent of Australia’s total car sales.

Eco-friendly motoring is a strong theme this year, with at least two new hybrids, near-production electric cars from Mitsubishi and Subaru, and a host of fuel-miserly diesels.
